Are Bambum products really made of bamboo?
Yes. We don’t use any other kind of tree while we’re producing our products. Only oak barrels are made of oak and kuksa is made of birch.
Why did you choose bamboo as a raw material to produce kitchen equipment?
Bamboo is one of the most environmentally friendly materials in the world. A bamboo takes only a few months to grow and requires no pesticides. It is even harder than cedar wood in terms of structure and contains many antibacterial elements. We believe that this material will make an important contribution to solving the environmental problem, considering future generations.
Pandas are on the verge of extinction and their most important food is bamboo. Don't you harm pandas' food sources by producing bamboo products?
The generations of pandas were in danger not because of hunger but because of their reluctance to mate. (According to the statement of the IUCN the danger has passed since September 2016.) In addition, bamboo is a tree species that spreads to more than 1450 subspecies. Bamboos eaten by pandas and bamboos used in the production of kitchen products are different from each other in terms of species. In addition, bamboo to be used for production is not cut from wild forests. It is harvested from industrial bamboo forests established exclusively for this purpose. Bamboo product production increases bamboo forests due to demand rather than decreasing bamboo forests
What is the difference of bamboo from other trees?
Bamboo is a type of tree that grows in a short time and its products can be used for a long time. For example, if you are going to make an oak product, you need to cut down a 70 year old oak. The tree from which an oak cutting board you use today was produced was planted 70 years ago. But the bamboo tree from which the bamboo product you have is produced was planted only a few months ago and that tree will grow again before your product gets old. As bamboo producers, we can produce products from the trees we planted. However, only our grandchildren can produce products from an oak tree we will plant today. In short, bamboo is the material that should be preferred by those who think about the environment.
What does the Original Antibacterial Bamboo logo on Bambum products mean?
The bamboo tree contains antibacterial elements in its nature. Properly processed bamboo tree preserves its antibacterial properties when it becomes a product. Bambum branded products has been documented as antibacterial by accredited institutions in EU countries. For this reason, this sign is found on the products and packaging. As long as Bambum branded products are used correctly, they do not produce germs and do not contain bacteria. Other companies selling bamboo products do not have such a document.
How do you stick the raw materials of Bambum products together?
Bamboo is a hollow tubular plant that looks like reeds that grow on lakeside. It can exceed 30 meters in length and 30 centimeters in diameter. The exterior fleshy part can be around 3-4 centimeters thick. The slats obtained by cracking the raw bamboo are glued together with a glue obtained from the bamboo itself. Chemical glue is not used for bonding. The glue is produced from the tree’s own sugar.
Although bamboo is a green tree, why are the products brown?
Bamboo trees are dried and baked before being processed. Due to the loss of water and sugar in it by being exposed to high temperatures, it moves away from its natural green color and turns brown.
Is there any varnish or paint in Bambum products? The colors of the products can sometimes be light or dark. Is this because of the paint difference?
No paint, varnish or chemical polish is used in Bambum products. When the production is completed, the natural resin shine is provided during fine sanding. Therefore, it is suitable for food contact. The reason for the difference in color tones is the baking process of the trees. There may be slight color differences in the products due to the age of the wood and the current burning power of the oven.
Does the coating material smell?
Natural resin is used as a coating material in bamboo products. It does not smell. The smell you will get when you open the package of the product is the smell of the bamboo tree itself. This smell evaporates a few hours after the package is opened and the products do not smell during use.
Do Bambum products go into the microwave oven?
Bambum products are not designed for use in microwave ovens. Because it is raw wood, if it enters the oven, it may deform or even ignite.
How is their water resistance? How should they be washed?
Wash your products as soon as possible after use. When washing, use warm water, a soft sponge and, if possible, natural detergents. (You can safely use 100% natural Bambum Pak Cleaner produced by Bambum both in your Bambum products and in your other dishes.)
Do not use very hot water, bleach, and detergents with high active ingredients and cleaners that may cause irritation such as steel wool. After washing, store it by drying it out of direct sunlight.
If a heavy amount of acidic sauce has been used on the product, sprinkle some rock salt on the product. Cut a lemon in the middle and rub the product well with salt. The interaction of lemon juice and salt will remove heavy stains on the product in a natural and easy way.
How should it be maintained?
A Bambum product that is washed and cared for correctly can be used for a long time. You can lubricate it with natural olive oil or cedar oil, depending on the frequency of use, to prolong its life.
The lubrication process is very simple. Put a few drops of olive oil on the product, spread it all over the product with your hand or with a cotton ball, and let it dry. Olive oil dries in a few minutes and makes the product shine like it has just been polished.
I'm buying it for my dowry. Can they wait 1-2 years without opening? Is it necessary to lubricate even if we don't use them?
Unless you use Bambum products, you do not need to lubricate for maintenance.
How should I store Bambum products I bought for my dowry?
Store in a moisture-free environment. Bambum products are not affected by water, but the effect of moisture is different from water. Humid environment can damage your products after a while.
Will oil and sauces penetrate the product? Can I serve any kind of food?
Sauces do not penetrate into the product due to the hard structure of the bamboo. However, if a product used remains dirty for a long time, stains may occur on it. You can serve any kind of food. In hot presentations, you can serve food at temperatures up to 80 °C without any problem.
Do they deform as they are used?
We produce our products in a way that can be used as long as possible. However, since Bambum products are completely natural, color changes may occur on the outer surface during long-term use. This situation does not cause any problem in using the product.
Can a broken Bambum product be repaired?
Since the panels where Bambum products are produced are baked after being bonded, it is not possible to repair a broken product.
Where do you produce the products? Where does the raw material come from?
Bamboo is an endemic tree species that grows only in the Far East. For this reason, we grow trees in various regions of China and work with expert factories for each model. From the growing of the tree to its harvest, from the production of the panels to the packaging of the products, all processes are carried out under the supervision of Bambum engineers.
What happens after Bambum products have expired?
Bambum products that have expired do not pose any risk to the environment. A Bambum plate forgotten in the forest and a pine cone falling from a tree have the same effect on the environment. Both disappear in their natural environment.

What is the difference between Bambum and other bamboo producers?
Raw materials:
Bambum: In our own bamboo forests, we grow trees specific to the product.
Ordinary Brands: They are not interested in raw materials. They buy and sell ready products from China.
Design and Registration:
Bambum: We make our designs in-house. We buy patents for models designed by our own designers and produce them in our own factories. We register most of our products against copying.
Ordinary Brands: They don’t make their own designs. Since they do not have any specially designed products, they do not have registration costs. They buy and sell ready-made products. They often imitate Bambum’s licensed products. Quality control is not possible.
Production and Packaging:
Bambum: We manufacture in contracted factories and in our own factory. We manufacture all our products in the same quality and under the same corporate identity and make them ready for sale. We follow all stages of production and packaging with our own staff.
Ordinary Brands: They buy and sell ready-made products produced in under-the-counter workshops. Because they buy and sell ready-made products, they do not attach importance to quality. Product qualities are different. Even the packaging of the products does not have integrity. Generally, they try to adjust their price policies according to Bambum’s prices.
Branding:
Bambum: We use the registered Bambum brand with the expression “Original Antibacterial Bamboo” in all our products.
Ordinary Brands: There is no standard for logos as they buy and sell ready-made products. Labels and packages do not have a specific corporate identity. They release ordinary products manufactured in China and sold to everyone, with a ready-made Chinese or English label. Since their products are not antibacterial, they do not have the right to use the term “antibacterial”.
Quality Control and Shipment:
Bambum: All of our products are subjected to quality control and transit shipment is provided. Since the Bambum brand is represented in the European Union countries and the USA, all quality certificates are available.
Ordinary Brands: They do not have personnel in the production and quality control stages. In production, the importance is given to low cost before quality. It may occasionally cause problems in the customs of European Union countries.
How is Bambum brand different from other bamboo sellers?
Bambum is a registered trademark of Karınca Home Appliances LLC. We are professional on bamboo products, we are doing all R&D activities, we design in-house and we produce in 46 factories in 6 countries in the Far East and our own factory in Turkey.
Bambum products are sold in four continents and 57 countries in America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
All of Bambum products have clear product codes and each product has a name. (Penne Plate, Tai Spoon, Merienda Dish Rack, etc.). All products are registered and there is always product continuity. For example if you lose a piece of a Bambum plate set you’re using in Odessa, you can easily get the missing part from Barcelona or Oslo with the same brand and quality.
The ordinary bamboo seller is just a seller. There are several pieces of bamboo products among porcelain, plastic and textile products in their product range. Continuity of the products is not possible. He buys and brings cheap or promotional items found in China. Today’s product may not be in production tomorrow. When you have a problem with the products, you cannot find a contact person to solve your problem. Brand integrity and consistency is not possible.
